Liverpool Biennial 2021 Festival Guides (12 posts), closes 22 Feb

Liverpool Biennial Festival Guides (12 posts)

Salary: £17,606 PA

Hours: 37.5 per week (Wednesday – Sunday)

Contract Type: Temporary, March – June 2021. Exact start date and dates of employment TBC.

Like so many other arts organisations across the world, Liverpool Biennial has been impacted by the pandemic and has had to reconfigure the exhibition to ensure that people are still able to engage with and experience the 11th edition, albeit in slightly different, but still inspiring, stimulating and, above all, safe ways.

They are now seeking to engage a group of 12 temporary full-time Festival Guides, who will provide a high-quality mediation and interpretation service to their in-person and virtual visitors, making them feel welcome, engaged and safe. These posts have been designed to offer entry level jobs to anyone interested in pursuing a career in the arts. Shifts will be spread across 5 days Wednesday – Sunday. You’ll receive a full digital induction on the festival and artworks, plus training on the logistical and practical ways to make visiting Liverpool Biennial a safe, enjoyable and memorable experience.

Their ideal Guide is someone who is passionate about contemporary art and who will enjoy working in a non-conventional, informal and fast paced environment, where no two days are the same. Full training will be given in all necessary measures to keep you and our audiences safe, and you will be provided with the correct Personal Protective Equipment to enable you to work confidently and safely.

Application packs can be downloaded via www.biennial.com/opportunities or by email from jane@biennial.com.

Closing date for receipt of applications is 12pm Monday 22 February 2021 and interviews are expected to be held on 3 March and 5 March. First interviews will most likely take place over Zoom.

Diversity and inclusion are core values at Liverpool Biennial. We welcome applications from all sectors of the community, including applications from people of colour, Black, Asian and minority ethnic groups, Indigenous people, people with disabilities, people who identify as being LGBTQIA+ and others who demonstrate the ability to contribute to our vision of a diverse and inclusive community.

If you require this application pack in another format, or you’d like to discuss applying in an alternative format to the application form, please contact jane@biennial.com.
