Knowsley’s rich agricultural history is full of untold stories—help uncover, preserve, and celebrate them!
Thanks to a £237,522 grant from The National Lottery Heritage Fund, environmental and social justice charity, Feedback Global, are bringing communities together to explore how food shaped Knowsley, ensuring that its traditions, skills, and knowledge aren’t lost to time. They’re looking for volunteers, students, and local groups to dig into history, get creative, and bring Knowsley’s food heritage to life. Whether you’re passionate about storytelling, history, or community projects, there’s a place for you.
They are looking for participants to join them in creative sessions across Knowsley.
These will include:
Archive Research: Join them in Knowsley Archives to explore local maps, documents, and contemporary accounts to unearth and share the farming and food heritage facts and stories of Knowsley.
Creative crafts: Join local artists to create beautiful, visual pieces for our art exhibition. The work will be inspired by nature and agricultural history of the area.
Storytelling: They are looking for people who may have a story of Knowsley’s farming past, or who may want to help others to share their memories. This will involve story-capture and editing guided by our experts.
Seeing Pictures: Through training sessions and workshops their expert will guide you to visually share Knowsley’s past, present and what this could mean for it’s future.
Eating Knowsley: Exploring Knowsley’s food heritage through cookery, heritage recipes and traditional ingredients. They are looking for people who want to attend sessions and learn new skills.
No experience is necessary, these are all opportunities to learn new skills and meet new people. All of their sessions will be based in Knowsley but you do not need to be a Knowsley resident to attend.
