Liverpool Celebrates Mathew Street Festival is hosting the final of a unique music competition on Wednesday 22nd May, allowing two winners to play the iconic Pier Head stage before The Jacksons during the upcoming music festival bonanza later in the summer.
Judges on Wednesday 22nd May at CONTENT include BBC DJ Dave Monks and Kevin McManus, Head of UNESCO City of Music. Musicians Esco Williams and Rheana Forrester are also on the panel.
The judges have whittled down hundreds of entries to a final 10 ahead of the event, with talent from across the city submitting showreels of their best performances. The finalists are: Esme Bridie; Clionagh Mclaughlin; Motel Sundown; Lucy Ellen; Kate Nicholas; Simon Howard; Corin Murphy; Tom Lloyd; Paul O’Keefe and George Weston.
The competition starts at 7pm and is free to attend. The final will support Fans Supporting Foodbanks and organisers are kindly asking for food donations on the night to support the charity.
Liverpool Celebrates takes place across the August Bank Holiday (Friday 23rd – Monday 26th August), commemorating the 10 year anniversary of the last Mathew Street Festival on the Sunday and Monday with dozens of acts to perform across the music extravaganza including The Jacksons, Holly Johnson and many more.
