The statistics are out! In a study showing that less than 2% of children’s authors are Black or people of colour, there is a severe lack of diversity in the publishing industry.
Phina Oruche (who’s recently debuted her new books, Jacopo Jacopo on Lockdown, and Jacopo Jacopo Football Star) and Patrick Graham (who’s recently released The Three Little Jamaicans) are ready to face this discussion head on, and talk about their experiences as esteemed black authors.
The event is held online, 22 September, 7.30pm. Tickets are free but you can book here to avoid disappointment. They are accepting donations of a £5 minimum; recommended ticket price is £10-£15.
