Did you ever get told off for doodling at school? Or for chatting too much? There is a proven link that doodling and drawing helps you to think and talk.
Over the last 5 months, including lockdown, artist Kate Genever and Metal have been using this as a way to get hundreds of people talking and getting to know each other better.
The result is a website that showcases all of the drawings, words and conversations in one place and you are invited to join in. www.whataretheconsequences.com runs from 15th August to 15th September.
Here are a few ways you can get involved
Consequences ‘pass it on’ packs:
These are packs of large sheets of paper, again, with drawing prompts and questions to get you thinking. You draw on the sheets alone or with friends before folding them up and posting them to the next person.
A bit like the old game of Consequences. The pack comes with all the stamps and paper you will need.
Consequences Deluxe box:
The pack is designed to be used as an activity when people get together. It includes paper, pencils, instructions, cards with suggested discussion questions and drawing prompts on, word sheets and some treats too.
If your group isn’t meeting at the moment, you can order one now for when you get back together.
Check out the ‘Get Involved’ page on their website for downloads or details on how to get these posted to your house.
You can also email them at metal.consequences@gmail.com. Once you have taken part you can add your drawings to this exhibition by tagging them at #WhatAreTheConsequences, or by emailing at metal.consequences@gmail.com.
