Join Bluecoat’s Head of Programme Adam Smythe and Assistant Curator Amirta Dhallu for a tour of Shezad Dawood’s Leviathan and Grace Ndiritu’s The Ark.
Shezad Dawood’s Leviathan explores the connection between mass migration and marine conservation. The film looks at how the turbulent journeys made by human migrants mirror the tumultuous ecological changes in the sea over which they travel.
Grace Ndiritu’s The Ark was an experimental scientific and spiritual community, which formed for 8 days at Les Laboratories Aubervillers in Paris in 2017. Ndiritu’s living experiment drew on the artist’s own experiences of living in New Age communities.
The group focused on creative thinking and tackling the problems of the 21st century. At Bluecoat, Ndiritu presents the findings of The Ark.
