The Magic Tree is an interactive digital exhibition, created by nil00.
Each visitor has the power to irreversibly change the artwork. Inspired by ‘The Magic Tree’ in Sefton Park, which for generations has been a meeting place, climbing frame and natural monument, this evolving digital artwork will begin with a normal photo of the tree.
It consists of a simple game which uses neural style transfer to produce a constantly evolving artwork, created through a mass online collaboration.
Each visitor is invited to upload an image to the page and a machine learning algorithm will evolve the tree, permanently altering its digital features.
