Liverpool Comedy Improv

Venue West Kirkby Arts Centre
Admission £10 per session

Learn how to improvise with leading Liverpool improvisation teacher Emma Bird. You will learn how to improvise games and scenes just like TV’s Who’s Line is it Anyway. Workshops are friendly and accessible.

Absolutely no previous experience is necessary. Just come as you are and they’ll do the rest. And, no, you don’t have to be funny! Classes are open to everyone. You may find yourself more confident, creative and open outside the class as you discover how the application of improv principles makes life just a little more easy and fun.

Improvisation is spontaneously making up short scenes without a script. It is fun, creative and playful and helps you develop your creativity, self-confidence and wellbeing. You will laugh long and hard – guaranteed!

Everyone can improvise. You literally do it everyday, in every conversation you have – you are making it up on the spot! In improvisation classes, you don’t have to be funny, or clever or try to impress. Just honest, open, authentic and playful.

Each workshop starts with games, where playfulness, trust & laughter are experienced! Everyone is involved and relaxes and gets to know each other. They then lead into simple, very short improvised scenes and games. The principles of improvisation are explored and will guide you through each workshop.

Special offers include loyalty card discounts, 2-4-1’s, and pre-pay bundle discounts. No need to pre-book. Just turn up, step through the door, unleash lots of laughter!

Emma created Liverpool Comedy Improv in 2015. She is a theatre director and actor and has been improvising for ten years. Trained by The Maydays, Second City, Annoyance Theatre, Loose Moose Improv, Armando Diaz (iO, Chicago).
