Discover and explore women artists then create your own masterpiece in this set of Tate Liverpool workshops and discussions..
Women artists have been marginalised and misrepresented throughout history. This has often been due to socio-political mores of the given era.
Through practical workshops and group discussion, you will examine the issues that lie behind this marginalisation.
Led by Maria Tavares, Artist Educator, this 4-week course will explore the history of women in art, through a series of practical hands-on exercises.
You will learn painting techniques, including texture, light and shade, colour, composition and perspective, using acrylic paint, as well as having the opportunity to study Tate’s collection of work by women artists.
