A performance of Messiaen’s Quartet for the End of Time, written in a Nazi concentration camp, to commemorate National Holocaust Day.
Ex-RLPO leader, James Clark, and clarinettist, Mandy Burvill, are joined by Sally Pendlebury of the Fitzwilliam Quartet and international chamber musician Andrew West for a performance of Messiaen’s Quartet for the End of Time.
Written and performed in 1941 whilst Messiaen was held in a Nazi prison camp, this extraordinarily powerful piece will be performed two days after Holocaust Memorial Day.
