Join Make Hamilton Square in the garden for a sunny afternoon that will give you the confidence to collect and use summer herbs to make infused oil and balms.
Would you like to know how to use herbs to support your wellbeing but don’t know where to start?
In this beginners workshop, you will be introduced to a variety of summer time herbs and shown how to use them to make oil infusions and balms. It’s an opportunity to discover and connect to the plants growing around us, learn how to identify them and find out more about their uses and history.
Join the Make Hamilton community garden and to start your journey into the edible and medicinal plants that are in abundance at this time of the year.
In this session you will learn:
– how to identify herbs by scent, touch and taste
– how to harvest fresh herbs
– how to dry & store herbs
– how to prepare an oil infusion
– how to make a soothing balm
You will leave with a soothing lip balm that you will make together, plus fresh herbs from the garden for you to dry at home to make your next healing balm.
All materials will be provided but please wear clothing suitable for the outdoors as we will spend most of the time in the garden (and we can’t guarantee sun unfortunately!).£20
