Liverpool Queer Collective’s LGBTQ+ storytelling event Telling Tales is back and this time the theme is ‘I’m Every Woman’.
Held on the eve of International Women’s Day, LQC invite you to a special event where local people will share their experiences of women and womanhood* from an LGBTQ+ perspective.
At this intimate event you will hear empowering stories, specially selected by Liverpool Queer Collective, which celebrate womanhood and the women who have enriched their lives. We live in a world where many women are still oppressed and where equality still needs to be fought for; by sharing stories we can show solidarity and help each other to learn from our experiences.
This is conversational storytelling – the people speaking are ‘real people’ telling ‘real’ stories about their lives. Please note that LQC have gathered the stories in advance and unless you have been informed, you won’t be expected to speak at the event!
As well as the stories, there’ll be live musical entertainment from The Ukeleighties.
Yummy food plus hot and cold drinks can be purchased from The Bagelry, so come down early to fuel up before the start.
Ticketing is pay what you decide as LQC always aim to be open and inclusive. Liverpool Queer Collective receives no funding to run this event and is 100% volunteer led, so when you pay to attend events you are supporting the continuity of their work.
LQC aim to make events accessible. If you have any specific access requirements, email hello@liverpoolqueercollective.co.uk.
LQC recognises every person’s right to self-identify and welcomes stories from and about cis women, womxn, trans women and non-binary folks. Liverpool Queer Collective aims to foster safe spaces that are inclusive and accessible for all. Transphobia of any kind will not be tolerated.
