Colm Tóibín delivers the 2019 Liverpool Literary Lecture, following in the footsteps of luminaries, Ali Smith and Val McDermid.
The current Chancellor of the University of Liverpool, Colm will take the lectern to consider Oscar Wilde, W.B. Yeats and James Joyce: Three Writers in Search of a Father.
Best known for his novel, Brooklyn- turned into an Oscar-nominated 2015 film, starring Saoirse Ronan – Colm is a prolific writer, producing both fiction and non-fiction works across a glittering career now reaching its fourth decade at the top.
This event will be followed with a drinks reception in the Waterhouse Café and a book signing through the festival bookseller, Blackwell’s.
