Presented by Spencer Leigh this event will provide a unique insight into one of the most well-known songs of the sixties. Spencer will be talking to Ralph Ellis from The Swinging Blue Jeans who had a worldwide hit with their version of Hippy Hippy Shake.
They are a band with an intriguing history: including an overnight conversion to rock n roll while playing in Hamburg, and a long association with the Rolling Stones, with whom they toured numerous times. Music historians will know that both bands also had the honour of featuring on the very first Top of The Pops (along with The Beatles).

Ralph will be joined by Chan Romero, the man responsible for actually writing Hippy Hippy Shake, and renowned Chicano musician Mark Guerrero. At the end of the night we have been promised a short acoustic set by Chan and Mark.
