Soprano Soloist Ruth Anderson joins CSO for five of Canteloube’s ‘Songs of the Auvergne’. A rare opportunity to hear these popular songs performed live.
This concert will also be their first time under conductor Melvin Tay. He has acted as Assistant Conductor for various conductors such as Vasily Petrenko, and others on projects with the BBC Philharmonic and Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra.
He was awarded the Special Prize at the 2nd International Conducting Competition in Brescia. In addition to the songs there is the beautiful ‘Prelude a L’Apres Midi d’un Faune’ and Cesar Franck’s brooding D minor Symphony.
