William Morris Lampshade Making Workshop at DoES Liverpool

Head along and join Imogen from Bluebird Upholstery for a fun and creative evening in the DoES Liverpool Maker-Space, and learn how to make your own drum lampshade.

Go home with a wonderful lampshade and the skills to make many more!

You will be taught how to make a contemporary circular drum lampshade to a professional standard, using a timeless Morris & Co. fabric. The finished shade will be 30cm diameter and will be suitable for use on a table lamp, or as a ceiling/ pendant shade.

No experience necessary. All tools and lampshade making materials will be provided. You just need to choose your Morris & Co. fabric when you book your ticket, and then turn up on the evening with nimble fingers! (5 different Morris & Co. fabric designs to choose from. There will be a tea-break mid-way through the session and refreshments (tea/coffee/cake) are included in the ticket price.

Event

Bluebird Upholstery has been transforming peoples well-loved but worn-out furniture, from a workshop in Liverpool’s Georgian Quarter since 2014.

Owner Imogen Woodings is an AMUSF (Association of Master Upholsterers) trained upholsterer, skilled in both traditional and modern upholstery, and was featured in the 2018 book A Celebration of British Craftsmanship. As well as furniture Imogen also makes and sells beautiful handmade lampshades & cushions.
