Drawing on the individual choreographic and embodied practices of Fernanda Muñoz-Newsome, Monsur Mansoor and architectural artist Fran Edgerley, this workshop is an open event for women or non-binary identifying people where moving, conversation and exploring between private and public space are in focus.
The workshop will be a culmination of a two-day process of exchange between the artists. It is a strand of a collaborative project between Fernanda and Fran where collective walking, offerings and curating shared experiences in public space can re-orient us around otherness in urban environments. It will also be the first part of research into a new group work of Fernanda’s. Mansoor is a guest collaborator also working between private and public space.
They will explore re-orienting from collective and independent practices.
They will be speaking, walking, dancing, tuning to our unruly bodies and voices.
They will re-experience our public/private bodies and environments, reclaiming agency while growing new bodies.
They will discover what is already present and stay with becoming uncivilised, being in our own pleasure.
Lunch will be provided. No prior performance experience necessary.
