Collective Encounters is a professional arts organisation specialising in Theatre for Social Change and since 2004 has worked with marginalised communities in Merseyside.
They deliver place-based participatory theatre projects that grow out of research with those affected by poverty and inequality, tour productions and undertake national and international research in Theatre for Social Change practice. Collective Encounters is based in Liverpool and is an Arts Council England National Portfolio Organisation.
Following successful fundraising from the National Lottery Heritage Fund Collective Encounters is seeking an exceptional Artist & Project Manager with experience of socially engaged theatre practice to work with women taking part in a new project, Women in Action. Women in Action is a multi-faceted project that will use Theatre for Social Change to explore the experiences of women in 21st Century.
Women in Action will unearth, explore and share stories of community resilience, community action and community organising. The project will culminate in a new touring production, radio ballad and a digital collection of oral histories.
The successful candidate will have experience of leading and delivering arts/heritage projects and excellent participatory theatre credentials, excellent skills in advocacy, project management and making theatre through a participatory process.
They will be motivated, proactive and collaborative in their approach; diplomatic, friendly and empathetic.
Due to the nature of the project this opportunity is only open to female candidates.
Available fee: £12,700 (over a 24 month period inclusive of VAT and expenses)
