The Arts in Libraries Officer will play a key role in the development and delivery of Cultural Hubs, the award-winning Arts in Libraries programme.
This is a creative and rewarding role for a highly motivated individual who has the necessary skills knowledge and experience to lead on visual arts commissions and projects. You will also support the programming and development of work across different art forms.
You will work as part of a team to plan, manage, develop, promote and deliver arts initiatives within St Helens Libraries and on-line, working closely with staff and communities to embed diversity, excellence and talent development opportunities through an inclusive arts programme including work for family audiences, BAME, children & young people, LGBTQ+, ‘Broad Appeal’ and Disability Arts audiences.
Cultural Hubs’ mission is to provide rich and diverse arts opportunities for audiences and participants within the Library Service and to support artists to inspire, challenge and enrich the lives of St Helens residents.
It’s vision is that everyone in St Helens should have the opportunity to experience high quality Arts and Culture through their Library. As a result of their Cultural Hubs experience, they want people to feel inspired, empowered and enabled to explore the arts further in a variety of contexts.
St Helens Library Service is committed to commissioning a broad arts programme that represent both the demographic of St Helens and that of contemporary England. They value arts professionals from every section of society and encourage individuals from all backgrounds in their diverse community to apply.
