Starling works with neurodivergent young people in Greater Manchester to provide engaging and empowering creative projects that develop positive identity and promote connections, conversations and creativity in the neurodivergent community.
They are looking to employ a Project Coordinator who will work with them to deliver their participatory arts projects in Tameside, Trafford and Manchester with neurodivergent young people aged 13-25.
‘Neurodivergent’ refers to those who experience and process the world in distinct and unique ways due to neurological differences including, but not limited to, Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs), ADHD, Autism, Dyscalculia, Dysgraphia, Dyslexia, Dyspraxia, Epilepsy, Learning Disability, Mental Health, Tourettes and Trauma.
They are looking for professionals with at least 2 years experience of project coordination, particularly in youth settings, who are positive and approachable and demonstrate excellent communication skills.
Key responsibilities:
- To oversee the delivery of our creative workshops in Tameside, Trafford and Manchester.
- To plan, implement and evaluate project delivery, adhering to budgets and timescales.
- To co-facilitate sessions in partnership with artists and support staff.
- To promote our projects to a range of gatekeepers and directly to young people, parents and carers.
- To recruit and engage young people in our sessions and identifying barriers to engagement.
- To develop relationships with parents/carers/young people and effectively communicate any needs to artists/support staff.
- To adhere to our health and safety and safeguarding policies and procedures, including Covid-19 related measures.
They actively encourage applications from professionals identifying as neurodivergent, or who have lived experience of neurodivergence.
The role will be 21 hours per week, £23,500 per annum (£14,100 pro-rata) for 1 year fixed-term. The role is home-based, with weekly sessions to be delivered in Tameside, Trafford and Manchester.
