Liverpool’s Black Arts organisation BlackFest are looking for three Project Managers to lead on the coordination and delivery of exciting new education projects taking place in 2021.
These projects will aim to support the dialogue between generations and learning in Liverpool and the wider Merseyside area.
BlackFest are looking for 3 ambitious individuals with youth, disability and intergenerational project management skills. The successful applicant will have experience of project management in an arts setting, have effective evaluation and research skills, excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to develop and maintain effective partnerships.
Project 1: Origins of House – A research project culminating in a creative response, based around the house music genre, working with intergenerational communities to mark the incredible contributions from Black musicians and DJs of the time, and how the genre evolved.
Project 2: Self Love (Film Project) – A film project working with young people aged 18-25 on the idea of self love and identity.
Project 3: Hip Hop Dance for All – BlackFest are initiating a hip hop dance project, reaching out to communities specifically working with those who identify with having a disability.
Co-Founder of BlackFest, Jubeda Khatun, said “Having secured funding from the WEA’s ESF Community Grant, we are looking for three project managers to lead on the coordination and delivery of three exciting new community projects in 2021, reaching a wide and diverse range of intergenerational black and minority ethnic communities. The project manager will also deal with the project finances and oversee the development of our project partnerships.”
The organisation are also looking to hire an experienced Creative Producer to bring the BlackFest vision alive thoughout the year.
