Open Eye Gallery are looking to represent the idea of ‘neighbour’ through a series of photographic portraits and stories.
The portraits and stories will be shared digitally to complement and celebrate a major new art installation ‘Neigbourhood’ on Castle Street by international artist Sergey Kim – the work is a large scale illuminated washing line of glowing white clothes.
They’re looking for people to share stories that can be directly or loosely related to a garment displayed on the washing line.
What participants would need to do:
Each participant will have an individual posed portrait taken via Zoom by professional photographers.
Each participant would be interviewed on zoom to discuss the story related to their chosen garment.
The work will be shown as part of the Rivers Of Light Festival in March.
Most of the garments are quite ubiquitous and their hope is that the garment itself could be a stepping off point for discussion.
The list of garments are:
Shirts
T-shirts Male
T-shirts Female
Pants
Dresses
Bras
Underpants
Socks
Baby Suits
Skirts
Ajax Shirt
Feyenoord Shirt
Moroccan Djellaba
National Liberation Skirt
Turkish Salvar Pants
