Are you wanting to give your creative side a kick up the bum? Metal have asked three artists to lead you through 6 weeks of FREE practical workshops for young creatives still studying or wondering what creative career path to choose.
Whether you’re doodling during your zoom class, or wondering what lies beyond your drama course, these sessions are designed to offer inspiration, develop your interests in the arts, help you learn new skills and discover something new.

All workshops run on a Tuesday evening from 6pm – 7.30pm on zoom, With ‘how-to’ videos by the artist shared on Instagram after.

Learn how to create a short experimental film with your mobile phone with artist filmmaker Kiara Mohamed.
There will be a follow up workshop on Tuesday 13 April to keep developing these skills.
We highly recommend attending both parts of each subject workshop, to get the most out of our sessions.
At each workshop, our artist will guide you through new skills and techniques to kickstart your creativity, with the chance to try them out through an activity you can do in your own time. There will be a follow up session the following week with the artist, giving you the chance to share and discuss what you’ve created and where it can go from there. The sessions will be on zoom, cameras on or off you choose, you can listen in and make some work together on the call and join in the chat to learn more about what being an artist is all about.

About the artist
Liverpool based Kiara Mohamed (b.1990) is trans, multidisciplinary artist based in Toxteth, Liverpool. His work focuses on identity, social issues and the role art plays in our lives in addressing these issues. He uses photography, poetry, film and drone photography to comment on post-colonial ideas and reflect on his background and the community he lives in.
