Burnley Youth Theatre are looking to expand their pool of Freelance Drama Practitioners. They have a number of regular and ongoing projects on offer as well as one off workshops. Please see below for the range of opportunities they have on offer.
YOUTH THEATRE PROGRAMME
They deliver regular weekly youth theatre workshops and productions with children and young people aged 0- 18 at our purpose built theatre in Burnley. They are looking for practitioners who have experience in youth theatre, can commit to regular weekly work on evenings and weekends and are passionate about developing young people.
CREATIVE EDUCATION PROGRAMME
They work with a number of primary schools, secondary schools, special schools and colleges across Burnley, Lancashire and the North West, delivering Creative Education in their settings. They are looking for practitioners who have experience working with schools, are familiar with the National Curriculum and are passionate about the value of the arts in schools.
OUTREACH PROGRAMME
They work in the local community with children, young people and families delivering issue based projects that respond to the needs of local people and are led by them.
They are looking for practitioners who have a background in Applied Theatre, have experience in working with diverse communities and are passionate about bringing about social change through the arts.

This opportunity is open to North West based drama practitioners who can easily travel on a daily basis to Burnley and surrounding areas. Their ambition is to have a more diverse workforce at Burnley Youth Theatre therefore they encourage applications from disabled, BAME, LGBTQ+ and working class practitioners.
