First Take is presently in post-production of its feature film ‘1 in 200’ so it is an exciting time for them.
As a Production Office Runner, you will be involved in helping with office systems such as filing, IT, completing Excel spread sheets for cost reports, dealing with petty cash receipts.
Office duties such as telephone enquiries, message taking, servicing meetings, including maintaining Covid safe spaces. You will research possible Sales Agents and Distributors and undertake other research for further projects, including funding possibilities.
Working with the Producer and Director you will be part of helping market the film, completing tasks on social media.
You will develop skills and knowledge in production office systems, marketing and distribution of film.
The other side of your job is as a Trainee Editing Assistant, where you will edit interviews and behind the scenes footage under guidance and instruction from an Editor.
You will learn how to critique your own work as well as take notes on cuts of your edit. You will gain a good understanding of editing, how to use the footage to tell the most effective story.
You will gain knowledge and skills using professional software Final Cut Pro X. First Take makes films working with diverse communities and the present project is working with the recovery community, which is people in recovery from drugs and alcohol issues.
Under guidance you will help keep participants involved with the project through regular telephone conversations. You will also be responsible for working with individual participants to edit short showreels for them to build their online profiles as cast or crew on platforms such as Spotlight.
