The Facilities Manager will ensure the Factory building and surrounding public realm and service yards are maintained to the highest standard.
This role will lead the Facilities and Maintenance Teams to develop and embed a cohesive, efficient, cost-effective and robust facilities and maintenance structure whilst always keeping environmental sustainability, access and customers at the heart of what they do.
Responsibilities include
- Leading on delivery and implementation of capital works, managing capital asset lifecycle, including end of life replacement and strategies to extend working life, delaying final replacement
- Being responsible for statutory compliance across all building related systems, (including but not exclusively: life systems, legionella testing, and periodic electrical testing) managing regular testing of the fire alarm system and ensuring all required record keeping is robust
- Being flexible, solution orientated and able to work under pressure
- Ensuring that the property, soft & hard services, plant and equipment, and the fabric of the building is maintained, tested and inspected, and presented to the highest standard
- Ensuring that the building is presented to the highest standards and is always safe for use by staff, visitors and anyone else who is within the demise of the building
- Developing essential building records, drawings and data monitoring from the BMS and CAFM ensuring that information is up to date and relevant
- Managing waste disposal contracts to effectively dispose of waste in line with the Factory/MIF’s 5-year Sustainability Plan, aiming to reduce the amount of waste going to landfill and increase levels of recycling
Essential requirements include
- Proven experience of managing and motivating a team to achieve consistently high levels of performance
- Familiar with Building Management Systems
- Experience of developing a preventative maintenance plan and capital asset lifecycle strategy
- IOSH qualified
- Experience of managing external contractors and contract delivery with robust KPIs
