The International Slavery Museum / Maritime Museum Project is an exciting development for National Museums Liverpool (NML) which will play a significant role in the overall 10-year masterplan to reimagine the iconic Liverpool Waterfront site.
In the next two years they will work with communities to reimagine and reinterpret the collections for both museums, creating new galleries and new ways to discuss our collections and the city’s history.
The Stories Producer will play a central role in the development of both the International Slavery Museum and the Maritime Museum, working with internal content creation teams and external design consultants to develop the interpretation approaches to both museums. The post-holder will be pivotal in the development and delivery of the ISM/MM project through RIBA stages 2 and 3 in order that we can deliver our NLHF Stage 2 application in 2023.
They want to work with communities so a more diverse range of people can create a vision to transform the International Slavery Museum and Maritime Museum. This Project is generously supported by The National Lottery Heritage Fund with thanks to National Lottery players. They will place communities at the heart of the waterfront project development and involve diversity of voice and representation. This post-holder will need to ensure that this work is able to drive the design development during the coming months.
This is a unique opportunity for someone with the passion, energy, and dedication to join their Project team in a strategic role that is critical to building relationships and trust with community stakeholders most affected and most invested in the outcomes of the of the International Slavery Museum re-development, and wider Waterfront project.
