M6 Youth Theatre are looking for Workshop Assistants. Due to an increase in support needed for participants, they aim to have two Workshop Assistants in each group to assist the Lead Facilitator.
The sessions take place weekly during Rochdale term time as follows:
Tuesday Year 11-13 6:30pm – 8:30pm
Wednesday Year 4-6 4:30pm – 6pm
Wednesday Year 7-10 6:30pm – 8:30pm
Ideally, they’re looking for two people who can cover all sessions but recognise this may not be possible so please do still apply if you are only available for one or two sessions or have a preferred age group to work with. The rate of pay is £12 per hour (minimum 3 hour call out).
M6 work with children and young people from Rochdale Borough to create high quality theatre which is relevant, engaging, challenging and most importantly–fun! Not only do participants develop their performance and theatre skills but also transferrable skills such as communication, problem solving and team work.
They devise our performances, working collaboratively with the young people to tell their own imaginative stories. For more information about M6 Theatre, please take a look at their 2020/21 Impact Report https://m6theatre.co.uk/about-us/reports-policies/
The main role of a Workshop Assistant is to give support and pastoral care to the participants during the sessions. You will be required to participate in games and activities during the session alongside any admin or technical tasks. You will work closely with the facilitator to ensure all the participants are included and having fun. They are particularly interested in people who feel their voice is currently under-represented in the arts.
