Liverpool Arab Arts Festival is offering FREE artist-led Arab arts, language and cultural workshops and activities to schools.
Our programme is an exciting and unique opportunity for students to engage with Arab arts and culture and/or Arabic language.
We are looking to partner with schools who are interested in increasing students access/participation to Arab arts, language and culture.
We offer one-off workshops or a bespoke programme running over a number of weeks. All workshops led by professional Arab creatives/facilitators.
Some of the activities we offer:
- Arab language sessions for beginners, or, for Arabic speaking students – these workshops support students in developing their Arabic language through creative writing, poetry and storytelling.
- Authentic Arab dance workshops – led by a professional Dabke dance Tutor.
- Drama workshops – facilitated by a professional theatre producer/actor.
- Music workshops – for students who have an interest in music, and who would like to explore playing an authentic Arab instrument like the Oud or Tabla.
- Visual arts & crafts – introducing techniques used in the Arab region ranging from mosaics to creative calligraphy.
Activities can take place during the school day or as an after school enrichment programme.
