This exciting role sits within the Creative Practice and Galleries team, who provide specialist technical support and training to the Faculty of Art and Humanities.
The team utilise their extensive experience and knowledge in a range of art practices to work closely to support academics, students, and professional artists in their creative and studio practice. You will play a key role in supporting the team to deliver excellence in service and the creative ambitions of the faculty of Arts and Humanities.
About you:
The post holder will bring a dynamic and flexible approach to delivering specialist technical support to our Fine Art students, whilst assisting the team with our ambitious Gallery and Studio Schedule.
To succeed in this role, you will have:
- Excellent communication skills to deliver engaging workshop demonstrations to students.
- Demonstration skills in stretcher making, surface preparation and Fine Art painting.
- Enthusiastic approach to the service, demonstrates initiative and ability to problem solve.
- Proven experience in delivering professional Gallery Installation.
- Experience in running or maintaining an art-based workshop.
- Hold a sound knowledge of relevant Health & Safety legislation associated with operating within a workshop, studios, or Gallery environment.
