The role provides support to the Box Office Manager in the supervision of the Hall’s Box Office operations, phone room and counter staff. Duties include a mandatory commitment to work evening and weekend hours as required
Key accountabilities
1. To supervise the Box Office Assistants and be their first line of support
2. To ensure that the office always runs effectively; distributing tasks fairly, keeping the team motivated and monitoring staffing levels
3. To ensure that quality customer service is maintained at all times and that calls are answered in line with current Service Level Agreements
4. Reconcile all daily cash, cheque and credit card payments reporting any discrepancies to the Box Office Manager and Finance Controller
5. Authorise any credit or refund of tickets in line with current guidelines
6. To be on duty for designated concerts and events, liaising with the public, promoters and other departments
7. Respond to enquiries and complaints from customers in person, by phone and online
8. Provide sales information and advice to promoters when requested
9. Update and/or set-up performances on the Tessitura ticketing system for sale to the public as directed by the Box Office Manager
10. Process Direct Debit payments for season subscriptions
11. Control batch ticket printing for collection at box office and postal delivery
12. Produce a weekly report detailing current ticket sales and auditorium area closures for the internal events team meeting
13. Ensure that all Box Office Assistants are kept informed of any amendments to company policy and working practices within all SMG Theatre venues
14. Any other duties required by the Box Office Manager
