If you’re aged 14-17 with an interest in creating theatre and performing, this group meet weekly on Thursdays from 5pm-7pm.
Sessions will help you learn skills that can contribute to a future career in the performing arts or simply build confidence and self-esteem.
This activity is free and you don’t need any previous experience or knowledge.
YEP Actors 14-17 will include the following:
• Performance skills and techniques.
• The process of theatre making.
• Working collaboratively.
• Developing confidence, resilience and social skills.
• Increasing aspiration.
• Opportunity to perform in EV1 in July 2024.
• Theatre masterclasses.
• Mentoring.
• Exploring creative opportunities.
• Going on trips and seeing theatre.
• Meeting other young people and networking to build your own community and connections.
• Engagement with the creative process of at least one professional production.

Who runs YEP Actors 14-17?
Our outstanding team of freelancers are professional theatre makers and experienced in making work with young people. A dedicated practitioner will run YEP Actors 14-17 and there’ll be masterclasses with visiting professionals working in the industry too. Our YEP Mentor will provide support throughout and can give guidance on submitting your application, setting personal goals and deciding on your next steps at the end of your course. There will also be support from our Young People & Community Producer, as well as other creatives in our building.

The deadline for applications is Sun 21 Jan 2024 at 23.59pm.
YEP Actors 14-17 starts on Thu 22 Feb 2024 and ends on Thu 25 Jul 2024.
Please note that you must be able to attend on all these important dates to apply:
• Thu 15 Feb 2024, 5-8:30pm – YEP induction
• Weekly sessions on Thursdays, 5-7pm from 22 Feb 2024
• 8-11 Apr 2024 – workshops for the development of a new play.
• Week commencing 15 Jul 2024 – technical rehearsals and performances in EV1.

If you’re aged 14-17 and live in the Liverpool City Region apply here to complete a short application form.
The deadline for applications is Sun 21 Jan 2024 at 23.59pm.
You’ll be invited to an informal workshop, where we can meet everyone to find out about your skills and experience. For successful applicants these will take place week commencing 29 Jan 2024 and there will be a choice of times to meet. If you’re unsuccessful we’ll still invite you to meet us, to chat about your application and next steps.
