Do you have a love of books and a desire to make a positive change in publishing? We want you!
We’re currently recruiting for 10 young people aged 14-25 to join our current cohort and lead the fight in making publishing and the media people read more inclusive, and accessible. Young people will be at the forefront of our Marginal Publishing House, the first youth led publishing house in the UK, working together to make publishing a more inclusive space over a series of campaigns. We’re currently finish our first campaign, where we’ve created an Inclusivity Charter for UK publishers to adopt.
New Campaign
Our new cohort will be focused on a ‘Shelftalkers’ campaign, which is aimed at improving the way we display, discuss, and recommend graphic novels by marginalised creators by engaging with booksellers and shops. More info here: https://comicsyouth.co.uk/marginal-changemakers
How does it work?
Each campaign is x12 sessions long and hosted weekly at Make CIC Birkenhead (Fridays between 4:30pm-6:30pm). Young people can access sessions online if preferred. Sessions will launch on Friday the 22nd of March, 2024.
You do not need any education or experience within publishing, comics, or activism to join our programme.
