This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Theatre Technician to join Shakespeare North Playhouse’s Production and Technical department, supporting a bold creative programme inspired by Prescot’s historic connections to William Shakespeare and a real love of story-telling.
Working alongside the Technical Manager, the post-holder will take responsibility for the delivery of the lighting and sound requirements within the theatre, performance, and event spaces to ensure the smooth running of Shakespeare North’s productions, workshops, and events and be a key operational member of the Production and Technical team.
Specialising in production lighting and sound you will work on all technical aspects of the Co-Productions, Received Work, Events and Engagement Programmes as required and will at times act as duty technician, building duty manager and will need to work with and supervise casual, freelance and contractor staff as scheduled by The Head of Production or the Technical Manager.
This is a varied role working in the Cockpit Theatre, a traditional 470 seat timber framed Shakespearean theatre, The Sir Ken Dodd Performance Garden and The Studio as well as supporting events across the building.
