Assistant Curator, Bluecoat
37.5 hrs / week, 6 month contract
£22,000-£23,500 (depending on experience)
Bluecoat are looking for an Assistant Curator for a six-month contract, to lead and support the gallery team in realising Bluecoat’s visual arts programme of exhibitions and events.
This temporary contract includes an opportunity for the Assistant Curator to plan and develop independent project research, with 3 days per month designated as individual research time. Arising from Bluecoat’s partnership with Iniva (Institute of International Visual Arts) some of this research time (up to 10 days) towards the end of the contract may be spent onsite with INIVA and at the Stuart Hall Library.
The Assistant Curator will be supported in the development of ideas by staff at Bluecoat, and will have access to Bluecoat’s onsite archive, digital archive mybluecoat.org.uk and to Iniva’s special collections library, the Stuart Hall Library www.iniva.org/library/ once it reopens later this year at its new premises in London.
