Brighter Sound is collaborating with Culture Liverpool to offer an exciting new Event Coordinator traineeship.
This 20-week part time placement will give the successful applicant the opportunity to work across a number of projects at Culture Liverpool, Liverpool City Council’s cultural service.
Since the incredible success in 2008 of their European Capital of Culture Year, Culture Liverpool has built on the city’s world class reputation, championing and using arts and events as the driving force for the regeneration of the whole city.
The successful candidate will gain experience across three departments at Culture Liverpool: Event Management, Marketing and Creative Engagement, working with Susan Lees, City Event Manager. They’ll also receive ongoing support from Kate Lowes, Head of Programmes at Brighter Sound.
Part of Both Sides Now, the groundbreaking programme to support, inspire and showcase women in music in the North of England, the intention of the role is to increase opportunities for female Event Coordinators, although applications are welcome from any gender.
The traineeship will take place over 20 weeks from 20 May – 12 August 2019. It will be a part time post (of 2.5 days per week or equivalent) and will be based at Culture Liverpool. The role is paid, with a fee of £3650. Activity may take place outside of normal office hours.
Applicant requirements
Applicants with a knowledge of and connections to Liverpool/Merseyside and the music scene are welcome.
You should also:
- Have a demonstrable interest in both music and events
- Have a commitment to pursuing a career as a professional event manager in Liverpool
- Have some experience of creating and delivering small scale events
- Be able to demonstrate a commitment to living and making work in Liverpool & Merseyside
