Paid Curatorial Traineeship, OUTPUT Gallery
£400 (eight half days)
Deadline 28 Apr
OUTPUT Gallery are offering a route into the art world via their new paid Curatorial Traineeship. Working exclusively with creatives from or working in Merseyside, OUTPUT aims to encourage the development and strength of the local art scene through a free programme of exhibitions and events.
The Curatorial Traineeship is to train a local individual who is curious about working in the arts but might not have found any paid or structured opportunities to learn what is involved in putting on an exhibition or running a gallery. The successful candidate will receive £400 for 8 half days where they will:
– learn about funding applications, programming and budgeting
– assist in curating, installing and documenting an exhibition
– liaise with artists to plan upcoming shows
– learn about press releases and marketing
– lead on an Art Social and Group Crit
OUTPUT’s programme for 2019 runs from April to November, so the 8 half days can be flexible according to your schedule (can accommodate for evenings and weekends). OUTPUT can also alter what you learn from this traineeship depending on your interests or what you think would be most useful going forward.
OUTPUT are keen that this position goes to somebody who is serious about a career in the arts, curious, organised, willing to learn, and who practices inclusivity. They would hope the candidate has a good knowledge of OUTPUT’s activities so far.
The art world, as with the rest of the world, can exclude marginalised identities but OUTPUT would like to invite applications from anyone who thinks a Curatorial Traineeship could kickstart their career.
To apply, fill in the Google Form.
The deadline for applications is midnight on 28 Apr.
