Fringe Flicks is a quarterly underground cinema night in Liverpool, curated by People Versus TV (PVTV). They showcase bold, strange, satirical, and surreal short films from around the world in a friendly, inclusive setting. Screenings are held at DoES Liverpool and mix experimental shorts with conversation, refreshments, and a welcoming DIY atmosphere.
They’re now open for submissions to Season 4 of Fringe Flicks. They welcome short films that embrace the weird, the absurd, the political, the poetic, or the just plain unexpected. Selected films will be screened to an engaged local audience, with the chance to win their Audience Choice Award — which now includes a free Digital Cinema Package (DCP) for a future project, courtesy of The DCP Works.
Deadline for submissions: 6 March 2026
Location: DoES Liverpool, The Tapestry, 68–76 Kempston Street, L3 8HL
Events: May, September, and November 2026
They accept submissions from anyone, anywhere — no matter your background, training, or budget. Imagination and bold storytelling are what matter most. One free submission is available for filmmakers based in Merseyside or Africa; additional entries should be submitted via the appropriate paid category. Their low fees help cover the basic costs of running the events.
