Every other fortnight, we hold relaxed ‘Time to Write’ sessions at The Writer's Bloc. These are facilitated by our staff and volunteers and offer dedicated time and space to focus on your work.
Bring whatever you’re working on – flash fiction, poetry, memoir, a novel, essays, scripts or something entirely new. The goal is simple: to commit time to your writing within a supportive community setting. At the end of the session, there’s the opportunity (if you wish) to share your work, receive constructive feedback, build confidence and connect with like-minded writers.
The Writer’s Bloc is Writing on the Wall’s dedicated creative writing centre in Liverpool – a welcoming space where writers of all backgrounds can write, connect and grow together.
Launched online during lockdown, The Writer’s Block moved to Toxteth Library on 7 June 2024 with acclaimed Liverpool screenwriter Tony Schumacher, creator of the award-winning BBC drama The Responder. The Writer’s Bloc sits alongside our wider creative programmes and offers regular opportunities for anyone with a passion for writing – whether you’re just starting out or already developing your craft.
Based at Birkenhead Central Library – as well as online – The Writer’s Bloc brings together a vibrant community of writers and creative thinkers from across the Liverpool City Region. It’s flexible, friendly and supportive: a place where inspiration and encouragement go hand in hand.
