Tip Tray Theatre is a disabled-led theatre company based in Knowsley and working across Merseyside, led by Evan Byrne and Maisy Gordon.
They champion emerging and underrepresented artists by creating opportunities for training and professional development, producing socially engaged theatre and specialising in access consultancy.
As part of their new project, A Space For Us, they are commissioning three Disabled artists based in the Liverpool City Region to creatively respond to the themes of welcoming and belonging for Disabled people.
They’re inviting applications from creatives working in any art form or medium.
Each commissioned artist will receive:
£1,000 artist fee
£695 towards personal access costs
Additional funding for BSL interpretation, if required
This is a seed commission, so we’re not expecting fully developed proposals. We’re interested in your ideas and understand that they may evolve throughout the creative process.
By the end of November 2026, you’ll share a creative outcome as part of their A Space For Us project launch event. This does not need to be a finished piece.
To apply for a seed commission, please head to their website tiptraytheatre.com and check out their Opportunities page.
There is an application form, or an application document.
Applications close 21st August 2026
