Fringe Flicks returns to DoES Liverpool with Love Is Strange, bringing together 13 short films about warped romance, awkward desire, tenderness, obsession and emotional misfires.
Across live action, animation, stop motion and experimental film, the programme moves from tense relationships and impossible honesty to peculiar attractions, strange creatures, surreal encounters and a man who falls hopelessly in love with a pineapple.
Expect a relaxed, low-pressure film night rather than a formal cinema experience. Doors open at 7:30pm, with a Love Is Strange playlist curated by Esa Shields playing while people arrive. Films begin at approximately 7:50pm, with a 20–30 minute interval midway through the programme.
There’ll also be a raffle and an Audience Choice Award sponsored by The DCP Works. The screening and activities should finish at around 10pm, followed by an optional social until approximately 10:30pm.
Pay What You Can. 18+. DoES Liverpool is fully wheelchair accessible.
