Tip Tray is looking for a freelance Administrator to join our growing team and help us keep the organisation running smoothly as we enter an exciting period of development.
Tip Tray is a Disabled-led arts organisation based in Knowsley and working across Merseyside. Led by Evan Byrne and Maisy Gordon, we work alongside emerging and underrepresented artists to broaden opportunities for training, creative development and professional progression.
Since 2021, Tip Tray have championed emerging and underrepresented artists by creating opportunities for training and professional development, producing socially engaged theatre and specialising in access consultancy.
As our work grows, we are looking for someone organised, approachable and reliable to support the day-to-day administration of Tip Tray Theatre and help us create strong, accessible systems behind the scenes.
Job Title: Administrator
Reports to: Co-CEOs
Fee: £140 per day (£17.50 per hour)
Hours: 8 hours per week
Contract: Freelance
Location: Primarily remote, with occasional in-person working
Start Date: Wednesday 21st October 2026
The role is on-going across multiple years with an annual uplift of 2% to reflect inflation

Essential
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to keep track of different tasks and deadlines.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Confidence using email, online documents and everyday digital administration systems.
- Ability to work accurately and pay attention to detail.

Desirable
We do not expect applicants to have all of these.
- Previous experience in an administrative, coordination or organisational role.
- Experience working within theatre, arts, culture, charities or community organisations.
- Experience supporting projects, events or creative programmes.
- Experience organising invoices, expenses or basic financial administration.
- Experience using shared digital systems such as Google Workspace, Microsoft Office or similar platforms.
- Experience communicating with freelancers, artists, participants or partner organisations.
- Knowledge of the cultural sector in Liverpool City Region and/or Knowsley.
- An understanding of access and the barriers Disabled people can experience within the cultural sector.
- Understanding of finances and working with funders
