Projection mapping can transform buildings, objects and spaces into striking visual experiences. In this introductory workshop, the Focal Studios team will explain how the technology works and demonstrate how it is used on live commercial projects.Projection mapping has played a central role in Focal Studios’ growth from a start-up into a scale-up creative technology business. The session will draw on real projects delivered for clients including Porsche, Liverpool Football Club, Lloyds Bank, the National Trust and Eurovision.Using live briefs, project footage and practical demonstrations, participants will explore the creative and technical process behind taking a projection mapping project from an initial idea through to delivery.Participants will gain:
- An understanding of what projection mapping is and how it works
- An introduction to the equipment and software used by Focal Studios
- Insight into how creative ideas are adapted to buildings and physical spaces
- Experience of working through real client briefs and project challenges
- A clearer understanding of the commercial opportunities within projection mapping
- Practical guidance on how to begin developing their own projection mapping work
