It’s a rewarding, energising way to take your reading to the next level in friendly and open-minded company.    Join us for a thought-provoking Shared Reading Masterclass exploring Gerard Manley Hopkins’ The Wreck of the Deutschland, a dramatic and deeply moving poem inspired by the real-life shipwreck of the SS Deutschland in 1875 and the loss of five Franciscan nuns fleeing religious persecution.    Led by The Reader's founder, Jane Davis, we will delve into Hopkins’ vivid imagery, innovative language, and emotional intensity as he grapples with themes of faith, suffering, courage, and the search for meaning in the face of tragedy.
