Introduction to 360 Filmmaking

Plan a shot, capture it, then step inside your own footage in a VR headset.

Introduction to 360 Filmmaking. You will plan a 360 shot, help film it, and then put on a headset and stand inside the thing you just made. The workshop is led by Keith Myers of AVimmerse.

Keith spent six years as an associate lecturer at the University of Manchester, where he designed their 360 filmmaking programmes. He was the lead Unity trainer at Media City and wrote their bootcamp curriculum. Last year he taught participants on Bradford City of Culture to build a virtual reality gallery, which was exported into a full dome for public showcase. He is coming over to New Brighton for one evening to teach the beginner version of all of that.  

Two and a half hours, in a small group so everyone gets hands on the kit. The 360 rig and the headsets are provided. No previous experience of 360, VR or filmmaking needed. Bring nothing.If you make films, take photographs, design things, teach, or you have just been curious about immersive media and had no idea where to start, this is where to start.
