NOW Festival aims to engage young people in a creative discussion around mental health, through whatever ‘NOW’ issue is chosen by the team and young people’s steering group. The festival are seeking youth groups to perform in 2020.
The festival process starts early on in the academic year; participants will receive extensive support and mentoring from the festival team.
You will be invited to attend workshops to support the development of your submission, this will be followed by visits from members of the NOW Festival team.
Before the festival, they encourage the groups to deliver a performance in-house to their peers in their school or youth group. As well as this, your group will have the opportunity to showcase their performance to another school as part of the Now Festival School Tour.
Please note: non-school entries will require a chaperone (they can signpost to authorised chaperones).
You can also read about the process here.
Once you have registered your interest, you will be invited to their launch event, during which you will be introduced to members of the NOW Festival Team, who will explain the theme for this year’s event ‘Mental Health and Belonging’.
The launch event takes place on 19th September at Merseyside Youth Association.
