1. Joanne Masding- The Moveable Scene Of The Page, Bluecoat (4 April- 11 May)

This April Bluecoat presents new writing by Joanne Masding and follows her strategy of using fiction to explore the nature of objects, their physical properties and how they relate to us. In the exhbition visitors can explore sculptures made from metal, ceramic, plaster and shimmering textiles which are suspended from a series of elongated copper sculptures. Pages of Masding’s new works of fiction will hang from these copper frames, for visitors to tear off and read. On top of that Masding’s exhibition will include new alphabet structures inspired by Monster Munch Crisps so be sure to include this on your list of things to do in Liverpool this April.

2. Grand Parade of Bees, World Museum (5 April)

Join the vibrant parade of flowers and pollinators as they celebrate the importance of bees! Create a spectacle with them as they head out from World Museum at 3pm, then waggle their way along William Brown Street, along side Bob the Butterfly, Gerry the Gerbera and with dance moves from Movema, bringing their story of the bee out into nature. Additionally, families can book to make your very own mini wildlower meadow, or to make a colourful costume to wear to the parade.

3. Goodbye to Goodison – Museum of Liverpool (5 April – 21 September)

A love letter to Liverpool’s oldest team and its iconic ground, Goodbye to Goodison will feature nine photographer’s from Everton’s fan base showing the final season from a fan’s perspective. The photos will look into the relationship between the ground and its loyal fan base before they move onto the next chapter in Everton history.  The photos selected highlight matchdays away from the Premier League glamour – the chippies, pubs, meeting places and family moments shared during the final season.

4. The Gruffalo, Playhouse Theatre (8-12 April)

An Indie-pop and Afro-soul enthusiast deeply rooted in the Africa continent, Blick Bassy released his album Mádibá, in 2023 addressing many environmental issues mainly using his mother tounge – Bassa.

8. The Wizard Of Oz – The Atkinson (April 19)

Follow Dorothy and friends on the yellow brick road this April at the Atkinson. 1. Willy Russell’s Shirley Valentine, Liverpool Everyman (1-29 March) 

For their 60th Birthday, the Everyman Theatre brings home Willy Russell’s Shirley Valentine to its stage. Following a journey of worship, love and co-existence Slime Mother is a film which follows childhood memories of hating slugs and flicking them away, to the slugs being worshipped and loved. Focusing on herbs and community gardens in Liverpool, children will have the chance to make their own herbal dream pillow or wand. 9. When Another Dragon Roars, Unity Theatre (18 February)

Alfie and his mum both find it hard to talk about their feelings, but when they go camping they share stories about dragons. These dragons are angry, sometimes sulky and even scary. Alfie and his mum soon realise they are quite similar to the dragons. Using puppetry When Another Dragon Roars tells a story about handling emotions as both a parent and a child.
