Altru Drama are now casting for talented, enthusiastic, and committed actors for a Christmas tour of Wind in the Willows. All actors must be aged 18+.
Touring schools and community venues in the North West. They are looking for 3 actors to tour and perform in an adaptation of Wind in the Willows. They are particularly keen to hear from actors who play a musical instrument.
Toad: A big character with loads of comedic moments.
Mole: Kind and gentle, full of wonder.
Badger: Grumpy and gruff but with a good heart. Ideally this character will play guitar.
The part of Ratty is already cast.
They are casting in a non-gendered way for this performance. The piece runs at an hour long, with lots of audience participation and live music played throughout the show. Performances will be in schools / libraries /community venues. Some evenings and weekends.
It is important to state that Wind in the Willows is not a panto, but an innovative storytelling piece of theatre which is engaging for children of all ages and families. All actors should be strong multi-role performers with comedic and storytelling skills. They are keen for all actors to have some musical skill, the ability to play an instrument is desirable but not essential. All cast members will be required to sing.
As the piece is performed at a variety of locations, they will prioritise those who are aged 25+ and have 3 years of driving experience.

They currently have one Saturday booked during the tour. There will be no Sunday performances.
Fee: £400 per week. Pro rata fee applies for part weeks.
Applicants for this project must live in Merseyside or have a Merseyside base. Applicants must also hold a current DBS (issued within the last 12 months) or be willing to apply for one at their own cost.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
All actors must have or be willing to obtain a DBS certificate.

You will be notified if they would like you to audition on Friday 15th October 2021. Auditions will be held on Tuesday 19th October 2021 at their base in Garston.
