Paperwork Theatre are seeking a team of dynamic actors with experience in outdoor, promenade and/or street theatre performance for a new live festive experience which will take place in Liverpool City Centre across 12 dates this December.
Events will be staged in busy outdoor locations where audiences will be invited to join in an interactive
outdoor pop up festive experience. They require performers with strong skills in audience interaction,
improvisation and movement.
Role – Festive Elf
You will develop an elf character who will interact with the general public at live Christmas theme events. For 4 of these dates the Elf team will be the main attraction, leading a different activity per event such as mistletoe ‘Kiss-Cam’, giant pass the parcel or snowball fights.
For 8 of these dates the Elf team will support a live performance by another act by encouraging audiences
to engage and participate.
Skills required – They are looking for performers with experience of:
Street arts/outdoor performance
Interacting with public and family audiences
Strong improvisation/clowning skills
Strong movement skills
Requirements – Age 18+, any gender, any ethnicity.
This is a freelance role, you must be registered as self employed/ responsible for your own Tax and NI and
have your own Public Liability Insurance.
Dates – Applicants must have full availability for below dates to be considered:
Audition Thursday 21st October 10-12pm
Rehearsal Thursday 25th November 10-5pm
Events 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 9th, 10th, 11th, 16th, 17th, 18th,
You will be called 5-7.30pm with performances between 6-7pm.
21st, 22nd, 23rd December
You will be called 5-7.30pm with performances between 6-7pm.
Location – Auditions, rehearsals and performances will take place at venues in Liverpool City Centre.
Rate of pay – £100 per elf-led event. £60 per elf supported event. £120 rehearsal day.
Weather
Please bear in mind that performers will be required to perform outdoors in December, approx 1h each
day, early evenings.
