“8 Hours There and Back” is a verbatim performance bringing to the forefront the experiences of children who have a parent in prison.
The performance has been created in collaboration with Time Matters UK and the children who have accessed this service. The performance is being made in association with The Unity Theatre.
They are looking for two actors who must:
- Have lived experience of the criminal justice system
- Be very confident with physical movement
- Be based in the North West
As part of the project they and the children involved aim to challenge some of the stigma attached to a prison sentence. Therefore you need to be comfortable sharing the fact that you have lived experience with the children who are involved in the project and you must be prepared to undergo a DBS Check (this is in relationship to working with children only).
You will also be identified as someone who has lived experience of the criminal justice system as part of the process and on social media, interviews and the film made of the process and product though there will be no disclosure from us, All Things Considered, as to the nature of this experience without permissions.
